SPRING AND SUMMER IN ARQUA' PETRARCA

South of Padova, the green and delicate Euganean Hills are the stage of one of the most beautiful borough in Italy: Arquà Petrarca, a village among vineyards and woods, the House of the Poet Francesco Petrarca, the starting point for cultural, gastronomic and natural routes.

The borough has a lucky position, south of Padua, near the thermal cities of Abano Terme, Montegrotto and Battaglia, and few kilometers far from the walled cities of Monselice and Este. Arquà Petrarca has an integral medieval structure, it is awarded with the Bandiera Arancione (orange flag), a special merit for the most beautiful italian boroughs. Arquà Petrarca hosted the famous poet Francesco Petrarca (1304-1374), and now it is possible to visit his tiny but extraordinary house, where the tourist can "taste" the flavours of past and literary harbours of italian literarure. "Taste" is the right word for this place, the Euganean hills offer a spectacular view on the green landscape south of Padua and a unique range of wines and food for gastronomic routes. Indeed, it is worth to start a route from Arquà Petrarca leading towards the several vineyards, wine-shops and farms spread along the Strada dei Vini dei Colli Euganei, the Road of the Wines of the Euganean hills. Just stop and taste the sweet Fiori d'Arancio, the sparkling white Serprino, combining them with a local sopressa (salami) or bruschetta.

After visiting Arquà Petrarca and smell the flavour of the Euganean past times and tradition, you won't desire to come back home, nor to your present time...
