OIL AND WINE OF THE BERICI HILLS

DAY 1: Vicenza and the boroughs of the Berici Hills
Arrival at Vicenza and leisure time for individual visits of the historical city centre: from Castello Square to Matteotti Square along Corso Palladio, the tourist will observe great part of Palladio’s architectural masterpieces. Suggested visit: Teatro Olimpico. 
Transfer to Costozza, a borough south of Vicenza, next to the Berici Hills. Costozza, full of Villas and elegant buildings, hosted Galileo Galilei who used a tower on the top of the hill as astronomical observatory. At the end, transfer to a farmhouse or BB of the area. In the evening, dinner in typical restaurant of the Berici Hills. Overnight.
DAY 2: A walk through the Berici Hills – Oil and Wine Tasting
After breakfast, guided walk along the paths of the Berici Hills, touching some picturesque villages like Barbarano, with the Palazzo dei Canonici (Bishop’s Palace), and

Mossano, with the Mills Valley, the Prison and San Bernardino Cave. Stop by a local olive oil-and-wine producer to taste the typical eno-gastronomic products of the Berici (other optional visits: honey-producer, or dairy, or grappa distillery). Possibility to have lunch in one of the restaurants of the area (on request). In the afternoon, guided visit of a modern olive oil mill, where the owner explains the olive oil-production process, possibility of olive oil-tasting. Leisure time. Early in the evening, wine-tasting at one of the most famous villas of the area Berica. Dinner in a elegant farmhouse near the villa. Overnight.   
DAY 3: Palladio and the Countryside
After breakfast, visit of some Villas south the Berici Hills, the Palladian peasant villas like Villa Saraceno or Villa Pojana. The elegant Villa Barbarigo in Noventa Vicentina (Palladian School) and the Palladian Villa Pisani, Rocca Pisani and Palazzo Pisani in Lonigo.
